Recruiters Day Out-09th March

A Very Happy Recruiters Day,

Am not here to say that we will take Oath and be a good recruiter.

I thought on this day, let me share some information which may be helpful in identifying that talent, apart from the conventional methods,

where we half the time pull out the contacts from well known Job Portal, but today all the Corporate expect something different and beyond that,

That's why Corporate HR says, any one can become a Recruiter, they can put some resource in their own firm, do that job of pulling out profiles,

Because today we have RPO, so many Recruitment software, Networking Tools,

the work becomes much simpler for them.

but the client wants some thing different, so we need to gamed for the same.

True, If we need to stand apart from that crowd, I think we need to atleast adopt few new ways of reaching out to candidates,

Today we have been blessed with wonderful Resource, yes Internet,

infact we can reap maximum benefits

Infact The Buzz is that Microsoft is integrating the upcoming Outlook 2010 with the social network, by way of the Outlook Social Connector, it might have benefits and limitations, lets see the positive side atleast, also rather than building their own Social Network, they intend to partner with the Market leaders like Linkedin.

Then we have Google Buzz, where we may choose to Buzz the Current positions or vacancies within our circle or public,

Then we have Twitter, now companies have been making a proper use of this application,

For Eg: Highest number of Tweets are by Tata Docomo and HP, to promote their business,

and the truth is that Tata Docomo is a new entrant in the Telecom sector, it has 7500 followers,

one more point is that it is actually ONE INDIVIDUAL who has been taking care of this account, Infact that has given them good business

all of us also know that Dell has done the same few months back.

We use Google search engine for searching many things, but not many knew that it is also a platform for Candidate search, Job search and other Networking sites

We also have an option,

to share the job postings in Digg, Delicious, MySpace, Facebook, apart from Twitter,

there are loads more, these are slowly flying towards India.

Am not stressing on the fact, to be more into Social Networking sites,

am here to say that we can actually use this platform to build excellent Talent Pool, it is all in our hands how and what we communicate, that may separate a Recruiter from any one else.

Women's Day Out

March 08th, It is that day of the year, when we celebrate Women's day,

I wouldn't say it is a special or auspicious day, but yes we make it a special day,

all days are good to be a woman, but just to club all those days and create an occasion is what matters over here,

I am not going to talk about Equal power, women rights etc, which I feel most of us are enjoying,

am sure today's women are much better off than those earlier, there are many opportunities open to woman that were not in the traditional times, only those woman who broke those barriers felt proud who came out of these barriers, kudos to them

Challenges are there everywhere, but we are geared up to overcome them,

I am proud to say that

I stand and work shoulder to shoulder with Men (Men, pls.excuse me, because this wasn't the case for some women who had worked earlier in my family)

I feel am more confident to speak my mind (this wasn't the case earlier with my folks)

Yes am lucky enough, am not here to compare this with my colleagues or friends,

but am writing this to say how lucky am I compared to some women who were meant only for the Household chores, who couldn't speak their mind, nor could stand shoulder to shoulder with men

But on this day, I would like to say Thanks to my Mother and Grand Mother, Ofcourse thanks to My Father.

Actually I am not here to compete with any one, it is just that I took this opportunity to say that "Yes I feel good to be a Woman"

Though we don't have some thing called Men's Day, but atleast I would like say Thank You, to Men folk who have been supportive to me.

I am happy to be a Woman in this birth, might be I would feel good to be a Man as well if there is Reincarnation, then we may Celebrate, "Men's Day" ;) too

Look at the luxury we have in our house and office, do we make proper use of all these space/ materials in our life properly, i guess no
am many of us waste food, water etc, pls.think about these people who work in firework industries, who work in a day for 12-14 hours for food with few hundreds or just a thousand per month....
what about we who get 5 digit package, are we making or utilising them to the fullest i mean not just finishing the amount, but use it for a cause.
Every month if we can spend 500-600 for a educational cause for these children it does wonders.

I think we should stop cribbing why me, It is time look around and see how lucky withing the 4 corners infront of the system with access to the world happenings with just a single click on the internet button, chat online and offline (in 8 hrs of stipulated Office time).

Cultural misfit-Strong words-difficult to put it as a heading

If you are in recruitment this is something not many would have missed hearing or discussing about, but end of the day does any one get the message what is this exactly, even if you get import of this strong words do you have Guts to put it across, even if you better DONT.
It would hurt a person, but what has this emotion got to do in Business.. it does my dear

what matters is that the way you put it across but it calls for loads of PR, Interpersonal skill
I had this incident recently with one of my MNC Client, they have got philosophical thoughts pecked their name,
but after having met a person for several times they say that person's communication is bad, or else what is mentioned in the heading at the nth round
i know such things happen but i wonder if they (big people) cant judge even in the 2nd or 3rd time.
we consultants are sandwitched say what? hw to say this, at least when u talk about the captioned subject, u need to mention what is that you follow and what do u expect this person to do
dont you think it is a first and foremost duty of any company to brief their vendor about their culture, not all do
what happens last is that u put the blame on the vendor saying u dont do you work properly
Great we shud appreciate these people....Hhh

Not clear

sometimes i wonder what am i doing, not at all clear
i think this situation is faced by almost all people at any time or always
if it is always, it is high time to act on it and direct towards normalcy

but what about when it happens once in a while, in such a situation it should be an eye opener, to realize what you are doing is it right does it have any useful component pecked to it.
For eg: if you are doing day in day out same work without any fun, value addition to it, what is the point in doing the same and cribbing about, turn around and look through you to see what is your potential or the so called skill which you possess, it may be inborn or some times acquired nothing wrong in it but why not capitalize on it,
i know every one may think on these line, but implementing is difficult because we want sun moon stars at the same time, it doesn't work like that, every thing has a day, we know that but still dont want to wait, ............

now what best can be done is that continue the same day in day out, but inculcate this habbit to devote some time on your area of interest, if we do that am sure the day in day out also becomes interesting, i think thats whay am learning these days

I just thought let me start like this with a salutation
Am still wondering what to pen down here in this page, though there are loads and loads of stuffs in my mind to share in this page, but don't know where and how to begin
but yes will start some day, might be very soon
